Dissecting Kotlin: Finding Safety

Kotlin English Interpretation available

Kotlin 1.0 launched 10 years ago, and the language continues to rapidly evolve. As developers, whether we use 1.0 features or explore previews, our Kotlin knowledge grows through both experience and study of its features, design, and implementation. In this talk, we will discuss some of Kotlin's recent features, discussing how they were designed and how they can be used by developers. By examining how these features work, we will also explore the role of safety in Kotlin as a language, include the importance of understanding safety and implementing it. And finally, we will try to contextualize safety in the current engineering landscape.

Intended audience
